Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia does not see the need to respond to Israel’s recent decision to recognise the 1915 events as genocide. Speaking on June 29 in Yerevan, Pashinyan stated that avoiding the “weaponisation” of the 1915 events serves Armenia’s interests.
On June 28, Israel’s cabinet approved the recognition of the 1915 events as genocide. Ankara strongly condemned the decision, accusing Israel of using the issue to “cover up its own crimes.”
